Brighton Introduction to Biomechanics Workshop

When: Saturday 19th September @ 12-3pm

Where: Coached (48 Wellington Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN41 1DT)

Unless you are a high-performance athlete, there is a good chance you have never been taught how your body was designed to move optimally.

Throughout life, we experience injuries, long periods of sitting and standing, chronic stress, emotional challenges, and physical trauma. These experiences can influence the way we stand, walk, and move, gradually changing the alignment of our bones and joints, and creating compensatory movement patterns.

Over time, these compensations can contribute to pain, stiffness, fatigue, tension, and reduced function throughout the body.

This introductory workshop explores how the position of your bones and joints, from the feet upward through the skeleton, can profoundly influence how you feel, move, and function in everyday life.

Through simple, but precise, practices from The Ixchel System's biomechanics and postural realignment programme, you will:

• Become aware of the movement patterns and compensations that may be contributing to pain or discomfort.

• Learn practical tools to improve your alignment.

• Begin re-educating your body to move with greater efficiency, stability, and ease.

This workshop is for you if you:

• Experience chronic pain, aches, stiffness, or recurring discomfort.

• Live with the after-effects of an injury.

• Spend long hours sitting or standing.

• Feel tired of temporary fixes that never address the bigger picture.

• Want to move better, feel better, and have more energy for the life you love.

Join Victoria Salomon, Founder of The Ixchel System and creator of its award-winning biomechanics and gait realignment programmes for an immersive introduction to your body's alignment and the remarkable role it plays in your health and wellbeing.

What will happen in this workshop?

Open to anyone, this 3-hour introduction workshop offers a practical exploration into how biomechanics can support the body in preventing, recovering from, and healing chronic emotional and physical pain or illness.

During this session, you’ll learn how the way your bones and joints are positioned, from the feet upward through the skeleton, has a profound impact on how you feel, move, and function day to day. When our bones and joints fall out of alignment, the body is forced to compensate. Over time, this can contribute to and create pain, fatigue, tension, and dysfunction in many different systems.

Through the simple (but precise) practices and theory behind The Ixchel System, you will begin to explore how gently realigning the body and changing the way you stand, move, and sit can restore a more natural and efficient structure, allowing the body to begin working with itself again rather than against itself.

During the workshop you will:

  • Learn the foundations of biomechanical realignment for emotional and physical pain

  • Understand how misalignment in the feet can affect the entire body above

  • Be guided through several Ixchel System practices that you can feel immediately

  • Experience the difference realignment makes in your body in real time

By the end of the session, you will not only understand the principles behind this approach, but you will also have begun to feel the impact of whole-body realignment for yourself.

Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, migraines, IBS, ME, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Plantar Fasciitis, recovering from injury or illness, Anxiety, ADHD, or simply curious about how your body can function better, this workshop offers a powerful first step into an award-winning body-first method to emotional and physical healing and wellbeing.
