Get Into Your Bodyâ„¢ LEVEL 2

Advanced Biomechanics & Gait Programme

An advanced biomechanics and mindful movement programme designed to help you optimise your posture, gait, movement patterns and nervous system awareness, so that it becomes second nature.

Build on your Biomechanics Foundation from Level 1

In Get Into Your Body Level 2 we explore gait on a deeper level, as well as the movements and timings of the feet, pelvis, rib cage and skull in relation to each other. Building on the foundations that you learnt in Level 1, you will learn to:

✓Study the movements and timings of the feet, pelvis, rib cage and skull in relation to each other
✓ Improve walking mechanics
✓ Train your body to hold healthier alignment patterns automatically and subconsciously

✓ Understand how your body compensates for pain and tension
✓ Learn advanced biomechanics, gait and mindful movement practices

How is Level 2 Delivered?

Learn To Be your Own Practitioner

Just like in Get Into Your Body Level 1, the programme is experienced through 3 key elements:

  • Online Modules

  • 1:1 Sessions with a practitioner

  • Online Group Sessions

In Get Into Your Body Level 2, we look at the integrated body and mind relationship of your muscular-skeletal system by teaching you 48 advanced biomechanic practices, divided into 8 modules, over 8 weeks.

We will also introduce the value of using your breath and mindful body scans to help you fully as a tool to connect with every area of your body.

Module 1 – Integrating Level 1 & Mindful Body Scan

Looking back on everything you have learnt in Level 1 and put it together, going through each practice, from the foot tripod to the jaw.

We will also introduce mindfulness body scanning and the breath, beginning to explore what our body weight, joints and muscles are doing at a deeper level.

We will uncover all the ways we are holding and contracting these areas without even realising it, and in turn unconsciously tightening the very areas we want to release.

Module 2 – Sagittal Cogs & Lying Down Body Scan

Using the support of the ground and the feedback it can give your body when you lie horizontally, you will learn to align all of your joints whilst resting in sagittal plane.

We will then look at sagittal plane vertically, standing with a wall behind you, to aid your understanding of where your structures are in space and moving from that place in the Sagittal Plane.

Module 3 – Frontal Cogs & Standing Body Scan

In Module 3 you will be focusing on timing and getting correct rhythm of your cogs in frontal plane,  while distributing your centre of mass correctly. At this stage, you will begin to clearly feel our muscles loading.

We will also look using the support of a wall and the feedback it can give your body when standing, enabling you to align all of your joints.

Module 4 – Transverse Cogs & Mindful Walking

In this module you will focus on timing and the rhythm of the cogs in transverse plane.

In a correct transverse cog, you will be rotating your pelvis, rib cage and skull at the same time, in different directions, which we will break down for you.

We will also have a mindful walking body scan to help you slow everything down.

Module 5 – Understanding the Impact of Walking

We will start by looking at gait and how minor differences in the way you move can affect the rest of your body and your alignment. We are so often unaware of irregularities in our gait, this module help you to notice and correct these.

We will then look how each cog works while you are walking. We will specifically look at how each part of your body moves through sagittal, frontal and transverse planes when you move through suspension and propulsion.

Module 6 - Suspension and Propulsion Revisited

We will start with a mindful practice, focusing on your connection to your body through two phases of gait.

We will then bring all the planes of movement together in the cogs. We will look at how each part of your body moves through Sagittal, Frontal and Transverse Planes – at the same time – when we move through suspension and propulsion.

Get ready to feel more movement in your body than you have in a long time!

Module 7 – Introducing Shift, Strike and Dynamic 3D Clockface

Here, we arrive at the beginning of where most physical exercises and workouts begin. It's time to look at our quads, hamstrings and other muscle groups – however, you will now do this with your internal knowledge of your own body and how you can access your own unique range of movement, listening to your body to takin care of it.

So, let’s get you moving in each direction of the clock face and see what is possible. At this point, you can begin to adjust and understand where your body is limiting your movement and the impact your centre of mass has throughout your body in each direction.

Module 8 - The Body and E-Motion

Why is your body not perfectly aligned? Most likely, it's because your body is holding postures that may interrupt optimum movement, resulting from physical injury or emotional holding, such as grief. In this final Level 2 lesson, we will begin to help you identify how this holding shows up in the alignment of your body.

You will begin to revisit reactions from the past that are imprinted in your body and learn how to lessen the hold these imprints may have on your movement and ability to create optimum alignment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time do I need to do the course?

You need a minimum of 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, and then 1 hour a week for six or seven weeks to meet with your practitioner.  You will then simply use the movements in your daily life.  Initially you can practice them standing in a shopping queue, crossing the road, or when you stand to brush your teeth.  These are the movements and alignments you should be using in your basic day to day life.  You do not need to go to a gym or a studio to practice them.

How do I know if the program will work for me?

This is an educational program and  if you go to our testimonials and stories you will get a very good idea of what to expect from our participants.  What we can promise you is we will educate you to realign your whole body.  We can say 100% that a bi-product of this is pain relief.

I do yoga or pilates, so why do I need this?

Yoga and Pilates are stretching or contracting practices for muscles and connective tissue.  We are focusing on your joints, which act as fulcrums at the core of the body.  You will learn to work with the 350 joints in your body, by aligning your bones whilst moving.

Can I just learn the course on my own?

Having a practitioner is crucial for ensuring that you are performing the practices correctly and effectively. Without guidance, it is easy to make mistakes that could hinder your progress. Additionally, if you experience pain, a practitioner can assess the situation and provide guidance on how to address it. The support and feedback from a practitioner can greatly enhance your experience and help you navigate the realignment process safely.

When do I take part in the VIP Group?

You can either take part in the VIP Group at the same time as your 1-1's just as you finish them.  People can also start their group at any point during their 1-1's.  However, you can not start the VIP Group before your 1-1's.

If I am a Case Study, is my Trainee Practitioner going to have the right experience for me?

We  only pair clients with  Trainee Practitioners who are fully prepared to work with clients.  All Case Studies are supervised, and the Trainee Practitioners are being continuously assessed.

How can it work online, why can't you teach me in person?

This is not treatment.  We want you to learn your body in a safe and quiet environment.  We want you to watch, listen, or read the practices and information.  You then need to look at your body in the mirror and start to assess for yourself what your body is doing.  You will then be able to share with your Practitioner about your experience and then work on this together.

Is it the same as Osteopathy or Chiropractic treatment?

Get Into Your Body is a program that allows you in essence to become your own practitioner.  Instead of someone else assessing and manipulating your bones and joints, you will be taught to orientate your body and feel into each area.  By anchoring different parts of your body, and moving other parts in different ranges of motion, you will be able to create a lot of the adjustments for yourself.
